A synthwave piece, it’s meant to inspire you to take your time and contemplate.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and enjoy this track in your ears.

Non jamais

Here is my entry for a music production challenge run by a French community. The rules required using the free Fury-800 synth plugin, a supplied MIDI file and vocal elements such as a sample from the INA (the French national audiovisual archive).

WHAT DID I DO?

I took the bass line from the MIDI file and used it for the organ. I also took the long rising scale (played backwards). Everything was transposed to minor.

The organ uses the Fury800 (FULL ORGAN preset, doubled an octave up). Another bit of melody uses the SYNTHICORDII preset.

Finally, I sampled an excerpt of a TV news broadcast from this 1975 INA video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-DjzP0hbVs

Enjoy!

Virtual Orchestra

Released on my 36th birthday, Virtual Orchestra is a synthwave track. It was designed as an epic film score.

Virtual Orchestra is made of several tracks of the same synth, each with different effects on top.

Ear Rebirth

Ear Rebirth, the first single I released, is quite special to me because it’s so symbolic. Several years ago, I was hit by a blast of feedback in a rehearsal room. Since then I’ve had tinnitus and hyperacusis. It’s often disabling, but I decided not to let it stop me and to keep making music by adapting to these heavy constraints.

With Ear Rebirth, I tried to depict what I feel during a relapse. The guitar solo, for example, represents the ringing of tinnitus.
So it’s a track full of emotion and energy.

About

After taking up the electric guitar, and always driven by curiosity, I’ve been exploring the world of electronic music for a while now.
When I’m not reading yet another synth manual or watching sound design videos, I have fun making tracks that mix synths, arpeggios, analog sounds and electric guitar…

It’s mostly synthwave, but blues and electro influences regularly sneak in…
I love playing with the line between robot and human, between the synthetic and the natural.
